CARMELLO’s/MONZA RAISE MORE THAN $1000 to SUPPORT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

Carmello’s and Monza of Old Town Manassas, Va. donated 10 percent of all brick-oven pizza orders and 10 percent of all Lamb Meatball Fettuccine orders in October to support Breast Cancer Awareness. Monza is hosting a Dogfish Head Brewery Beer Dinner on Wed., Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. for $75 inclusive, per person. The four-course dinner will feature Dogfish Head beers that complement new fall menu items. For reservations, go to eatmonza.com.                                         

The four-course dinner includes the 90 Min IPA with Meat and Cheese Platter; Namaste with Namaste Drunken Smoked Bacon Mussels, includes garlic, shallots, scallions, dijon crème fraiche and crostini; Punkin Ale with Four-Cheese Ravioli, served with wilted spinach, diced tomatoes, parmesan, creamy alfredo and pumpkin seeds; Indian Brown Ale with All Natural Braised Beef Ragu and Butternut Squash Gnocchi, served with carrots, celery, arugula, parmesan and olive oil ; and Aged-World Wide Stout with Homemade Bread Pudding, includes chocolate, cherries and crème anglaise.

Carmello’s of Historic Manassas, Va. recently presented their fall menu highlighting its signature dishes, including Lamb Meatballs with Housemade Fettucine and the 12-ounce All Natural Local Grilled New York Strip, sourced from local Virginia farms. And although turkey is not on the menu, they’re donating a 10-lb turkey to SERVE, a Manassas-area homeless shelter for each order of New York Strip with a bottle of wine in November.  For more information, go to www.carmellos.com.

Monza of Old Town Manassas, Va. is hosting a four-course Devil’s Backbone Brewery fall beer dinner, featuring beers like Vienna Lager, Kilt Flasher, Gold Leaf Lager and 4-point Pale Ale on Thurs., Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. for $65 inclusive. For reservations, go to www.eatmonza.com.

The four-course menu includes: Vienna Lager with Meat and Cheese Platter; Kilt Flasher with Kilt Flasher Beer Cheddar Soup with potatoes, bacon, chives; Gold Leaf Lager served with Pan-Roasted Wild Rockfish and artichoke, tomato fennell ragout, herb fingerling potatoes, grapefruit buerre blanc; 4-Point Pale Ale with All-Natural Slow Braised Beef Short Ribs, maple vanilla, sweet potato puree, caramelized bacon brussels sprouts, and crispy onions; and Danzig Porter Bittersweet Chocolate Cake Morello with cherry mousse, caramel popcorn and mint.

Carmellos and Monza are supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month, from Th., Oct. 2 to Oct. 31. Carmello’s will offer their ‘Go Pink’ dish of Lamb Meatballs with Fettuccine with 10 percent of the dish being donated to the American Cancer Society, while Monza is giving away 10 percent of all their pizza sales throughout October. Monza’s four-course beer dinner includes: Greeter Beer Bloodline IPA with meat and cheese platter;  Dead Rise Old Bay Summer Ale with Old Bay Crab Cakes, pan-seared crab cake, with roasted red pepper coulis, frisee, lemon olive oil and sriracha aioli; Hefeweizen with  Strawberry Mache Salad with radicchio, hydro-bibb lettuce, toasted hazelnuts, vanilla-bean vinaigrette; Easy IPA paired with Penne Roasted Tomato Sausage Ragu, includes roasted red peppers, leeks, oregano, basil and parmesan; and for dessert a Gonzo Porter Beer Float, includes Gonzo porter, vanilla ice cream, caramel and a homemade chocolate chip cookie.

Kyle Bianco, New York native, has been working with food since he was 10 years old, helping with deliveries for his family’s Italian wholesale business that provided food to more than 900 New York restaurants.
