Old Town Manassas Features 28th Annual Fall Jubilee

It’s that time again for the beautiful log carvings of the popular Chainsaw Chix, 300 crafters and lots of entertainment at the 28th Annual Manassas Fall Jubilee to be held, Sat., Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Old Town Manassas, Va., presented by Clear, an Internet company based in Kirkland, Wash. With FREE admission and FREE parking, the event will feature hundreds of crafters, including exhibitors with handmade jewelry and products, woodcrafts, face painting, a pumpkin patch, live entertainment and rides.

Classy Kids Childrens Consignment Sale Coming Soon

Kids are just getting back to school, and with this tough economy back-to-school shopping is dreaded. However, locally owned and operated Classy Kids Children’s Consignment Sale is coming to town and is surely a way to save some extra money. The sale will be held at the Prince William County Fairgrounds October 13 through October 17.

Classy Kids Children's Consignment Sale is celebrating its 5th year and is still accepting consignors and volunteers. What once started in the basement of a church in Old Town Mansassas has grown into a massive event that fills the Home Arts and the Commercial building at the Prince William County Fairgrounds. Don’t miss out!

Calling All Moms: Fall Consignment Sales Event

“Just Between Friends” is the nation’s leading children’s and maternity consignment sales event franchise. JBF of Prince William County is hosting a fall consignment event on September 11th and 12th at the Prince William County Fairgrounds. They are now accepting consignors and volunteers!

The event will be held in the Arts and Crafts Building at the Prince William County Fairgrounds and run from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday the 11th and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday the 12th. Admission is $5 a person from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Manassas Museum Event Tickets On Sale Now

It may be your last chance to buy tickets to the Manassas Museum’s “Spies in the Attic” at Liberia Manassas on August 28. The 10:00 a.m. tour is already sold out, but there are a few tickets left of the 1:00 p.m. tour. You better act fast!

On Saturday, September 11, at 2:00 p.m. the Manassas Museum is sponsoring A Civil War Trails Old Town Walking Tour. It is easy to forget that the Manassas sidewalks were once crowded with 24,000 Confederate soldiers. The tour will bring to life the stories about the transformation and the destruction of the area during the Civil War.

The walking tour is $15 and advance tickets are required. If there is inclement weather, the new date will be September 25. To purchase tickets you can visit www.manassasmuseum.org or call 703-368-1873.

Last Chance to Visit "From Cows to Condos" Exhibit

The Manassas Museum has been hosting “From Cows to Condo” exhibit since October 3 of last year. The exhibit will be ending on September 6, so if you did not get a chance to visit yet you should plan to head there soon! It is an opportunity to learn about Manassas and Prince William County’s 20th Century transformation from an agricultural community to a suburban community.

The Manassas Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday and Mondays on Federal Holidays. The hours of visitation are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Adults are $5.00, seniors over 60 and children are $4.00, and children under 6 are free.

The Harris Pavilion Offers Movies, Ice Cream Socials, and Concerts

 

The Harris Pavilion at 9201 Center Street in Manassas, VA is offering some fun events before the summer slips away. Tonight is one of the ‘Friday Family Movie Nights’ and the movie The Any Bully will be played at 8:25. Then on Friday, August 20 The Tooth Fairy will be played. The event is free to attend, but just remember to bring your own chair and blanket in case it gets chilly!

On every Sunday in August, The Harris Pavilion offers ‘Ice Cream Social and Concerts’! From 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. you and your family can come out and enjoy a variety of different orchestra bands and be treated to some ice cream! Bring your own chairs to this event as well.

September Brings Festivals and More to Old Town Manassas

You want to make sure to stay in town for Saturday, September 18. Old Town Manassas is holding a variety of different festivals on this day, all within blocks of each other! The 35th Annual Edgar Rohr Memorial Car Meet will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the lawn of the Manassas Museum.

Other festivals on this Saturday in September include the 7th Annual Old World Festival and the Taste of Manassas Arts and Food Festival. These will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Harris Pavilion. Don’t miss out on the farmers market or the sidewalk sale either!
